Political Savvy?

Brilliant stroke of political genious. By having Rev Wright continue to push the issue further, this gives Obama the opporunity, with the proper justification, to further distance himself from the Rev. In all likelyhood, this chain of events will provide Obama with the excuse he needs to publicly switch churches. I wouldn’t be surprised if he announces this move within the next 2 weeks (of course I’ve been wrong before). This whole recent chain of events and political posturing sounds like a concerted PR campaign to flush out what would otherwise, no doubt, be a huge issue in the general. If Rev Wright was truly his pastor or even less - a man with whom he shares a mutual level of respect and admiration - he wouldn’t be loudly coming out against his most famous parishoner. Now I know Mr. Wright is not currently the head pastor at Trinity, but in all likelyhood he still holds significant clout for the same reasons Obama does, which makes for a perfect excuse and the most obvious stage for the Reverend and Obama to “have it out.” They both have something to say and Obama desperately needs to put this issue behind him and make any other candidate look petty by breaching the subject or even worse, attacking him on it.
Skateboarding on a treadmill…you know this isn’t going to end well.
Cool new business/blogging tech. If you haven’t heard of or visited DocStoc take a look. It’s also doing well securing its funding.

So true.

ESPN’s Chad Ford breaks down who made the right decision to declare for the NBA draft and who needs more seasoning time. He makes some solid points most notably on Hansborough’s situation. Gotta love the “Insider” free preview.
Ah maybe she shouldn’t be a teacher. Why is this always happening in Florida?
Microsoft application crash almost causes 800 plane pile up potentially costing thousands of lives. Bill Gates a terrorist? Its fun to sound like FoxNews.
But why?
ESPN documents a otherworldly sports streak of 459 consecutive victories the most ever by any high school sports team in the country. This is even more unreal considering this streak is taking place in Wrestling an individual sport. Easily the most competitive and physically taxing sport out there wrestling is done one on one not as a team. Collectively the results are added up for each individual match and the school with the most wins wins the meet but that’s still crazy.
Are you In the process of selecting a college to attend/abuse? How I would select my college of attendance. How my dirty hippy neighbor would most likely select.

“Hey, hey careful there’s a beverage here dude.”
Let’s get some perspective people.
Remember when Metallica was bitching about Napster? I can vividly remember instantly losing respect for what was at one time a hard core metal garage band when they started whining about loosing revenue from CD sales. Did Henry Rollins ever bitch? Did Bad Religion ever whine? Answer no. Look at these hypocrites now.
Definition of intimidation
Glad to know Obama’s campaign had this ironed out ahead of time. Maybe this is where Obama should start courting the separation of church and state crowd (you know most of the blue states).
God I hate spiders. This is not helping.
Hate to admit it but this is funny. As politics goes. Don’t get me wrong she doesn’t tread water compared with Stewies latest diatribe on Family Guy.
Speaking of Family Guy this clip never gets old
Supreme Court says States can demand identification. Nice. Now we have identification to separate ourselves from everyone else. I feel like it would be easier if we had clothing that further separated ourselves from the “aliens”. Oh wait maybe we shouldn’t do that.
Crazy that this is even a question.
Ah Boston what’s up? ATL!!! I’m sorry but they look gooooood. Let’s hope this goes to 7.

Obama balling for votes.
The dominoes continue to fall. Hilldog bow out. Actually nevermind stay in have your husband campaign in the South. He’s doing a bang up job.
This global warming is getting bad.
Think crime in your town is bad? Not to worry new clothing lines are in the works designed to help you avoid dection.

Finally, now I can sleep. Target is getting into the act as well.
You have to at least find humor in articles titles like this one: “McCain calls Obama insensitive to poor people.” No doubt to be followed shortly by, “Obama calls McCain old”….oh no he diiinn’t.
He’s right, why aren’t we paying more taxes to feed his fat ass?
Craig Ferguson does this years White House Correspondence Dinner. Vice President Dick Cheney, Ferguson said, “is already moving out of his residence. It takes longer than you think to pack up an entire dungeon.” Funny cause it’s true.
HA, nobody likes the French.

Our System is Broken
Ever get the feeling we’re not the ones framing the debate? Sure there are issues like Health Care, Education, Crime and Immigration, just to name a few, that affect us all at some level or another. We vote, we give time, we give money, we participate or we don’t but at the end of the day, the issue at hand eventually impacts us. Most of us are impacted by higher taxes, some of us are impacted by more bureaucracy when we try to get our medication or more crime in our streets as our government fights a losing battle against drugs. Some of us see fewer and fewer choices in quality schooling or fewer blue collar jobs. The problems we face as a country are numerous but we need to start realizing that at the crux of all of these issues are the very people telling us they’ll fix the problem; the people who are framing the debate, the people who are running for, and are in office. (Don’t get me wrong there are good politicians out there, they’re just not making a difference.) There is one very simple reason why our representatives don’t fix the problems at hand: they don’t face these issues the way you and I face them. They’re not waiting in line at the hospital HMO, their kids are not going to public school, their neighborhoods aren’t infested with gang crime and they’re not (yet) losing their jobs to illegal immigration. They’re simply out of touch. So the problem is identified, now what to do? Not since the Civil Rights movement has our nation really experienced change lead by the people. It’s obvious in today’s society that demonstrating in the streets really isn’t changing things or grabbing enough attention and the effect is typically minimized by the stupid and inappropriate actions of a few. We should instead use the most widely available and free tool at our disposal: the Internet. It would be naive and ill-thought to try and address all the issues at once without focus. Rather, we should collectively address one issue at a time through mass petition addressed directly to Congress. Let’s start with one of the most pressing and obvious problems: Social Security. Believe me, the effects of the system’s destruction would be felt far beyond the retirees who depend on it most. Another government program in the red, supposedly, it’s soon to be bankrupt. Our Congress(wo)men do not pay into the system (I wouldn’t either if I had a choice) and they don’t collect from it. They’re too smart for that. Congress has their very own BENEFIT PLAN. The system works like this: they retire or lose an election and they continue to draw the same pay until they die! Yes, they do receive adjustments for inflation, “cost of living adjustments.” How much do they pay for this? NOTHING. We foot the bill. They pay nothing. The funds for this retirement come from the General Plan. This is our taxes paying for their retirement. What should we do? Petition to break this siphon off and put them on Social Security. If they are truly our representatives and this is a system of the people, by the people, and for the people, then it should at least be equal in how the benefits are paid to the people. Can congress ignore a petition circulated over the Internet and signed by millions of IP addresses? Maybe, but people will notice and it won’t be hard to do. Somebody get on this.
What nation has the most nuclear explosions since 1945? We dominate.
Now if they can simply combine the two.
A question that has plagued me for years, finally answered.
How much is your representative pulling in?

Ford, cutting its ties with its bogus Union contracts and pensions finally starting to see a profit. GM should be paying close attention.
Texas polygamy case might be a sham? The State of Texas went over the line pulling 400 plus children away from their parents. Prediction - Texas is forced to return the kids and a massive lawsuit ensues.
What do you think is going through his head?
Heading into draft weekend I almost can’t wait to see what the Jets do.

420 Myths, legends, et al Yeah I know it’s late. I’m simply practicing cultural relativism.
Griffey 3 bombs away from 600 and the sports world is eerily quiet. Seems odd for a guy whose career has spanned the entire steroid era but has never been implicated once.
I’m losing my interest in the race. Is Hillarys win too little too late? Can the Dems just nominate somebody already? This campaign has been going on for over a year now, in Hillary’s case her whole life, with no end in sight and media fatigue is starting to set in.
So the whole Alien thing from the other day was apparently road flares, tied to balloons.
Good question

Zito’s utter failure is embarassing. At this point in the season he is 0-5 with a 5.61 ERA (not bad, I’ve seen worse), however, not being able to get to the 4th inning is beyond terrible. With 12 walks to 10 strikeouts in 5 games he’s looking like middle relief at best. If we were to add in his wins & losses from last year he is 11-18 since joining the Giants. The truth of the matter is if he wasn’t Zito he would be sent down to the minors. All this for $126 million.
I love to see this go to court.
Huh? What? How? Constitutional Rights? 4th Amendment…? So the Supreme Court has decided that police have the power to conduct searches and seize evidence, even when done during an arrest that turns out to have violated state law. So we have to obey the law and are subject to it but the police and government are not. This doesn’t sound like America.
No, no you’re not.

Smoltz still the man after all these years.
Building of the pyramids may not have happened like everyone thought.
